Abstract

ஆய்வுச்சாரம் 

தொகையிலக்கியக் காலத்தில் வேந்தர்க்கும் வேளிர்க்கும் இடையில் நிலவிய உறவைப் பற்றி ஆராய்வது இக்கட்டுரையின் நோக்கம் ஆகும். தொகையிலக்கியத்தில் இடம்பெறும் தமிழகத்து வரலாறு இன்னும் துல்லியமாக வரையப்பட வேண்டும். சேரர் வரலாற்றைக் கூறும் பதிற்றுப்பத்துச் செய்திகள் முதனிலைத் தரவுகளாக, பிற தொகையிலக்கியப் பாடல்கள், பதிப்பாசிரியர், உரையாசிரியர், ஆய்வாளர் கருத்துகள் ஆகியன துணைநிலைத் தரவுகளாம். இவ்வரலாற்றியல் ஆய்வின் மூலம் தொகையிலக்கியக் கால வேளிர் தம் ஆட்சி அதிகாரத்தை எவ்வாறு படிப்படியாக வேந்தரிடம் இழந்து அடங்கினர் என்பது பற்றித் தெளிவடையலாம்.

Abstract 

The aim of this article is to study the relationship prevailed between the venthar and velir during the period of anthologies. A clear picture of the history of Tamilnad depicted in the anthologies is yet to be drawn. Pathirruppaththu which talks about the history of the Chera kings serves as the primary data source. The other anthologies, views of the editors, commentators and researchers serve as the secondary data. The historical approach proves that the age of anthologies was the transitional period when the liberty of velir to rule the people was  challenged by venthar and how velir yielded to the venthar.
