French-Tamil and Tamil-French dictionaries of Muse and Dubui in the nineteenth century, and verbs in the Dravidian languages of Julian Wenso, texts on Tamil grammar in French, Chintamani translation in French, Translation of Thirukkural by Gnana Thiago, translation of Acharakovai, Naladiyar, Nanmanikadai, Gambaramayana Sundarakandam in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries have made a great contribution to the prosperity of the Tamil language.&nbsp; In the background, the French Institute of Research, Pondicherry was established in 1955 to conduct research on the people, culture, nature, etc. of India, based on the agreement between the French Government and the Government of India.
